Villa del Grumello stands, a few steps from the city center, immersed in a unique environment where refinement and nature meet. The villa represents a real historical treasure: in the 15th century the property was known as “Castellazzo’‘ and consisted of a rustic on two floors, surrounded by a vineyard, a meadow and a rich orchard with walnuts, chestnuts and other plants; then, it was called Villa del Grumello. Set in a centuries-old park of great value and landscape uniqueness, which today is the central focus of the Chilometro della Conoscenza, it has been, over the years, one of the privileged residences of well-known families – the Odescalchi, then the Giovio and since the second half of the 19th century the Celesia – and it hosted famous people including Vincenzo Monti, Alessandro Volta and Ugo Foscolo, whose frequent visits to the Giovio family are evidenced by a bust placed in the garden. The panoramic paths enhance the many viewpoints, enriched by essences typical of the lake area, where you can appreciate the botanical uniqueness of the place with collections of aster, hydrangeas and anemones, among the most important in Italy. Among these, of particular value, the camphor plants, some redwoods and a centenary specimen of Ginko biloba. And it is thanks to the refinement of its interior, the beauty of the park and the romantic greenhouses, that Villa del Grumello is the ideal location to organize any type of event, from the corporate meeting to the most elegant wedding.
