Who does not know about the famous and romantic story of Renzo and Lucia’s forbidden wedding, the Manzoni’s “Promessi Sposi”? Their opposed wedding is one of the nineteenth century Italian symbols, and Lake Como owes much of its fame and its elite tourism to this historical novel. As a matter of fact, the name of our boat “La Lucia” comes from the angelic protagonist and back to those days this boat was used for transporting people and things from one side of the lake to the other, an ancestor of the modern Riva Boats, if you will!
It was designed for fishing, however it was taking its place between trade and transport and for this reason many copies of La Lucia have been built and used to sail daily to the Lake.

A legend claims that this was the same boat used by Renzo and Lucia in order to escape from Don Rodrigo and celebrate their wedding, creating an aura of mystery and romanticism around the vessel.
Today ‘La Lucia’ is no longer used for fishing or trade, but is mainly used for weddings and cultured events, always gracefully decorated and sumptuous, to create scenic effects worthy of films.
