Many people choose to travel long distances to be able to celebrate their most important day in a place that is dear to them, perhaps the place where they have their family roots. This is why Frank and Maddy, from the United States, decided to get married in Liguria, Frank’s homeland, and chose the beautiful Villa Durazzo and the small but beautiful church attached to it. Here, they welcomed their relatives and friends for a rather intimate ceremony, after which everyone moved to the garden of the Villa to enjoy an aperitif, made even more pleasant by the notes of a quartet playing live. For dinner, guests were seated on the terrace of the Villa where, on an imperial table decorated with flowers and candles in shades of white and gold, everyone found a box with chocolates inside. After dinner, admiring the splendid view from the terrace, the guests moved outside for the moment of the cake, a moment that probably had great affective importance for the groom: the traditional wedding cake, large and extravagant, was replaced in this case by a simple and tasty tart made by a pastry shop in Rapallo, which probably brought back old childhood memories to the groom’s mind. However, I couldn’t allow the homemade simplicity of the tart to clash with the elegant atmosphere of the event: for this reason, after a long reflection, I decided to decorate it with a base of leaves and fresh flowers that made it aesthetically up to the scenographic nature of the location; in this way, everyone could enjoy the evocative taste of the tart, without sacrificing style.
